Incarnation Youth Ministry
About Us
The Youth Ministry program at Incarnation is open to all young people in grades 6-12. Throughout the school year we have different weekly youth group meetings in English for students in middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12), a class in Spanish (grades 6-12), and a class in English specifically designed just for Sacrament preparation. We also coordinate preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, which takes place beginning in 10th grade. And we offer other events and activities throughout the year to help build community and to serve those in need in our area.
If you have any questions about our program, if you’d like to get involved, or if you’d like to receive e-mail updates about our activities, including information on upcoming events and registration deadlines, please contact Patrick to be added to our list.
Mission
To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today; to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community; to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person; and to have as much fun as humanly possible
Youth Group
Students in grades 6-8 (Middle School Youth Group) and in grades 9-12 (High School Youth Group) hang out every week, have lots of fun, and learn about our Catholic faith. We try to mix up what we do every meeting to keep things different and interesting, but we typically include talks, small and large group discussions, games and ice breakers, videos, different types of prayer, music, etc. Our goal is to create a fun, welcoming, inclusive environment that allows each person to grow, learn, and have a fabulous time. Our leadership team consists of adults and high school students who love their faith and enjoy sharing it with others. Come check out our meetings any time, invite your friends, and contact Patrick if you have any questions.

Role of Parents:
Ideally all of our students are attending Mass every Sunday with their family and participating regularly in the Sacraments. Our leadership team is committed to walking with young people on their journeys of faith and helping them to learn about the Catholic Church and its teachings. If you as a parent (and primary teacher to your kids) are looking for resources or ideas to help incorporate our faith into your daily family life, please contact Patrick.
Confirmation Preparation & Requirements
To receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Diocese of Richmond, a student must be at least 15 years of age and in 10th grade. Preparation is a one-year process that occurs during the school year, and students typically receive the Sacrament in late spring. A student wishing to be Confirmed must be enrolled in a faith formation program at Incarnation (see the options above). The student must also participate in the Confirmation preparation curriculum summarized below, which is separate and distinct from our faith formation programs.
