Catechument Track

The Incarnation Order of Christian Initiation Program (OCIA) has two tracks. Entering either tract is not a commitment to enter the Catholic Church. The first stage of OCIA is inquiry – finding out if that is what God is calling you to do.

The Catechumen track is for persons not baptized in the Christian faith. Persons in this category will attend the three ChristLife courses offered through the school year and will be baptized at the Easter Vigil service. These courses are:

Discovering Christ – Fall (Starts on Monday 22 September 2025).

Following Christ – Winter (Starts on Monday 12 January 2026).

Sharing Christ – Spring (Starts on Monday 13 April 2026).

In addition, there will be at least 2 Retreat Days. One will be in December and the other  in March.

Candidate track

for those who have received Christian baptism, with a fall and spring track leading up to entry into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Feast of the Epiphany in January or at Pentecost in late May. Fall sessions for the English cohort will be held Sunday mornings between the two English Masses. Spring sessions will be scheduled either Sunday mornings or Monday evenings.

If you are interested in learning about the church and/or coming into full communion with the Church through OCIA, please contact the parish office at (434) 973-4381 or email Deacon Jay Boyd.

Welcome to the OCIA Program

Welcome!

The Incarnation Order of Christian Initiation Program (OCIA) has two tracks. Entering either tract is not a commitment to enter the Catholic Church. The first stage of OCIA is inquiry – finding out if that is what God is calling you to do.

If you’re curious about becoming Catholic or simply want to learn more about the faith, we invite you to join our Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) classes on Sundays.
Sessions begin in September 2025 and meet between the 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM Masses in English, and from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM in Spanish.
