Parish Hall Renovation Project

Update (February 7, 2026)

The Diocesan Building and Renovations Committee [BARC] approved our plan for renovation of the Parish Hall for $445,000. The cost of this renovation is paid for by $150,000 of existing Parish funds and $300,000 from the sale of part of the Incarnation land to Our Lady of Peace, which is expected to close in the coming week or so.

Unexpectedly, though, BARC requested an additional egress door out of an abundance of safety, even though this was not required by Albemarle County. We looked at 3 options and the lowest priced option is shown in the rendering below, where the current full length windows on either side of the storage room would be replaced with glass exterior doors. Additionally, concrete slabs would be added outside these doors as a landing area. The additional cost of these doors and the concrete is $35,000, and would be paid for by existing Parish funds.

Once the contract for the land sale is completed, the contract for the Parish Hall renovation can be signed with Lee Construction. The next step would be the permitting process. Construction is expected to begin in March and last through May or June.

Several parishioners have recently approached Msgr. Keeney indicating that they would donate the labor to build a patio area outside these new egress doors if the Parish would pay for the materials. We have graciously accepted their offer. Artistic renderings of this new patio area are provided below. This space could be used for Parish activities and for outside renters of the Parish Hall for weddings, quinceañeras, etc.
