First Reconciliation & First Communion

Our parish is excited to walk with your family as you prepare for and celebrate the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion!

Requirements:

  • Your child must be enrolled in our Christian Formation (2nd - 5th) or Youth Ministry (6th - 12th) program depending on their current age.

  • Your child must be baptized in the Catholic faith. A copy of their Baptismal Certificate is required for all children preparing to celebrate the sacraments.

  • The steps to have your child baptized will depend on their current age.

    • If they have not reached the age of 7, please see information here.

    • If they are age 7 or above, they will need to study in our OCIA program. More information can be found here.

  • Please reach out to our parish staff, as each child’s situation is unique. We’re happy to talk with your family and help guide you through the process.

  • First Reconciliations are celebrated with a communal Penance Service in January.

    First Communions are celebrated at Sunday Masses in May.

  • No. While Baptism and Confirmation are the only sacraments that include godparents or sponsors, we encourage your child’s godparents to take part in this meaningful journey of faith.
