Outreach
Incarnation Church is known throughout the community for its compassionate and generous response to those in need. Our active Outreach ministry is dedicated to assisting both parishioners and non parishioners in times of hardship. In order to better serve our parish and the community, we partner with other human services agencies and offer the following services:
Inreach
“Inreach” is outreach to our parish. It is a collaborative effort between Pastoral Care and the Outreach ministry. Through Inreach we assist parishioners in various ways including: financial assistance, transportation, food and information and referral to other resources within the parish and the community.
Food Pantry and Personal Needs Corner
We collect non-parishable food which is donated to area agencies and churches for distribution to those in need. At this time, we donate to the following distribution sites: Holy Comforter Church food pantry, AIDS Services Group, Neighbors In Need and the Salvation Army. Grocery Cards and Personal Needs Corner We provide grocery cards and toiletries to both parishioners and non-parishioners on an as-needed basis. Non-parishioners need a referral from an agency in order to receive grocery cards. Parishioners do not need agency referral, but must make an appointment in order to receive assistance.
Financial Assistance
We assist our parishioners and those who come to us through referral from agencies in the community. Parishioners seeking financial assistance do not need referral, but must make an appointment in order to receive financial assistance.
Birthday Cake Fund
Our Outreach ministry has formed an exciting partnership with the Foster Care Unit of the Albemarle County Department of Social Services. We now provide birthday cakes and cards to children who have not been placed with a family. The cards were created by our youth group.
Networking
Our Outreach office networks with other agencies in the community in order to better assist both parishioners and non-parishioners in need. At this time, we work closely with the following community agencies: Salvation Army, Albemarle and Charlottesville D.S.S., Skyline CAP, Region Ten Mental Health Services, M.A.C.A.A., and P.A.C.E.M.
